Stanley M Nowak

Stanley M. Nowak, age 91, of Silver Lake, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Feb 27, 2024 at Harmony River, Hutchinson, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be March 23, 2024 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, MN with Father John Hayes officiating. Visitation will be held two hours before Mass starting with rosary at 8:30 am. A private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with military honors. Stanley was born at home in 1932, the son of John S. and Mary J. (Goranowski) Nowak. He honorably served his country in the United States Army as a vehicle mechanic. He later obtained a degree in Farm Management. On October 10, 1959, Stanley and Mary Ann Michel were joined in holy matrimony at St. John's Catholic church in Union Hill, MN. God blessed their marriage with 5 children. Stanley and Mary Ann dairy farmed for many years. Stanley was dedicated to his family, faith and country. He was a very hard worker and farming was one of his greatest joys. He enjoyed fishing, polka music, Price is Right, bingo, visiting family in Arkansas, watching Mass on TV, and praying the rosary. He was a faithful member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children: Marjorie (Dan) Marchese, Daniel (Beth) Nowak, Nancy (Dave) Plamann, Lisa (Louis) Stifter and Jeremy (Marie) Nowak, 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one due in July. Preceding him in death are his parents John S. and Mary J. Nowak, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and their spouses; father-in-law Wendelin Michel and mother-in-law Agnes (Busch) Michel and one brother-in-law.
