Alma F. Ogitzak, age 91, of Silver Lake, MN passed away on May 11, 2017 at Cedar Crest in Silver Lake.
She was born on February 19, 1926 in Winsted, MN the daughter of John and Mary (Nieman) Quast.
On May 10, 1949 Alma Quast and Marvin Ogitzak were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, MN. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Alma enjoyed farming, especially driving the tractors. She also enjoyed playing bingo every Wednesday, going to garage sales, gardening, baking kolaches (fried kolaches) and pies, quilting and babysitting. She cleaned the Legion in Silver Lake and Hutchinson for over 30 years. She was a member of the Legion Auxillary for over 65 years, was a member of the Ladies Aide and Rosary Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin, on May 3, 1983; her son Randy Ogitzak on August 2, 1966; brothers Rafael, William and Jerome; sisters Clarine, Fidelis and Jenny.
Survived by daughters Rhonda (Joseph) Chloupek and Tammy (Bruce) Stifter all of Silver Lake; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Joey, John and Jim Quast; sisters Mercedes Nowak and Theresa Hance; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Fr. Paul Schumacher will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery. Hannah Stifter and Dylan Lhotka will be the Readers. Bruce Gatz will be the Vocalist, Alice Nowak will be the organist and Alma’s grandchildren will be the Gift Bearers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 3-8 PM at Maresh Funeral Home. A CCW Rosary will be recited at 5 PM and a parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Further visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Monday morning at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Sandy Wozniak, Brad Mikesh, Janet Olson, Kathy Bogatzki, Roger Quast, Joseph Chloupek and Jacob Stifter.
Maresh Funeral Home, Silver Lake, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
