Chad Eugene Rannow

Chad Eugene Rannow, age 47 of Silver Lake, MN, passed away April 20, 2019. He was born on March 21, 1972 in Glencoe, MN to Eugene and Marlene (Ruzicka) Rannow. He attended grade school in Silver Lake and was known for riding around town on his 10 speed bike in his early years. Chad could be spotted blocks away from his distinct bleach blonde hair, often doing no-handed wheelies all the way down Main Street! When he got older, he traded the 10 speed for a motorcycle, and enjoyed taking long rides around the area.

Chad worked for Matthews Digging, Radke Excavating, and then finally at Woodland Dairy as a farmhand, assisting with various tasks around the farm. In his spare time, he would spend time with friends, enjoyed snowmobiling, going fishing, and would try to find treasures and antiques at flea markets and thrift stores. He was also a very skilled pool player. His distinct laugh and smile will be missed.

Chad is preceded in death by his father, Eugene; sister, Lisa Zarazua; grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Ruzicka, and Alfred and Mabel Rannow; uncles, Dale Rannow and Gary Grobe; aunt, Pat Becker; and cousin, Michael Rannow.

He is survived by his mother, Marlene; sister, Kelli (Kevin) Leyendecker; nieces and nephews, Mick (Melissa) Wertz, Heidi Wertz, Travis Wertz, Jaden Zarazua, Maria Zarazua, and Justin Fabian; great-nieces, Destiny, Faith, and Nevaeh; aunts and uncles, Janet (David) Lange, Thomas (Nancy) Rannow, Jerry (Peg) Rannow, Carlene (Dan Erdmann) Grobe, and Errol (Judy) Becker; and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 4 PM with visitation one hour prior to Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, MN. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Silver Lake.
