Dale Jerabek

November 16, 1952 ~ May 28, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Dale passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home of a massive heart attack. Dale was an organ donor, his eyes and skin tissue will be used for transplants and research.

Dale John Jerabek was born on November 16, 1952 to Harry and Pearl (Just) Jerabek. He grew up in Silver Lake, attended Silver Lake Public School through 12th grade. Dale was Baptized and Confirmed at the Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake, where he is still a faithful member.

Dale worked at Green Giant Co., Lester’s Inc., Overhead Door Co., part time at 3M Co., until he found his niche when he and Doris bought the grocery store/meat market, known as Jerabek’s Market in Silver Lake. Dale was proud of his famous smoked sausages that customers traveled from miles around to get their supply. Dale also worked hard to please all of his loyal venison customers, for all of the 28 years the Meat Market was open. Dale also went to school for Taxidermy and had his business for 10 years.

Dale married Doris Shimanski on July 14, 1972. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Jesse, and further blessed with five grandchildren.

Dale loved nature and the outdoors. He kept his best buddy, “Chocko”, with him wherever he went; Chocko was one of the family. Dale liked to do trapping, fishing, and hunting –ducks, deer, and bear.

Dale and Doris liked to travel, mostly on hunting trips and road trips out West. He liked to feed his squirrels and birds in the back yard, and take care of his garden and yard. Recently, Dale and Doris purchased the Lakeside Manor Apartments in Silver Lake. This was the last leg of his retirement, to take care of the apartments.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Jerabek; step-father, Al Branden; mother-in-law, Dolores Shimanski; brother-in-law, Frank Hlavka; grandparents; and uncles and aunts.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Jerabek; daughter, Kim Ziermann (friend, Todd); son, Jesse and Alissa (Martin) Jerabek; grandchildren, Jordan Ziermann, Jerika Ziermann, Aubrianna Jerabek, Ethan Jerabek, Jaxon Jerabek; mother, Pearl Branden; sister, Sandy Jerabek; brother-in-law, Rick Gonzalaz; nieces, Erika and Shelby Gonzalaz; in-laws, Simon Shimanski, Genny and Roger Lhotka, Gladys and Mike Carter, Bob and Sue Shimanski, Ron and Mitzi Shimanski, Therese Hlavka, John and Rosie Shimanski; uncles and aunts, Art and Luverna Just, Donny and Harriet Otto, Clardell Jerabek; and many cousins.
