Daniel Joseph Tschimperle

Daniel Joseph Tschimperle, age 84, of Silver Lake passed away peaceful with his children by his side, on Monday, December 9, 2019 at GlenFields of Glencoe.

He was born on February 6, 1935 in Hopkins, Minnesota the son of Oliver & Lydia (Hakel) Tschimperle.

Dan graduated from Hopkins High School class of 1953, and was a member of the 1952 & 1953 State basketball championship teams.

He honorably served his Country in the United States Army

He later graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Master’s Degree in Education.

On June 6, 1959, Daniel J. Tschimperle and Colleen F. McNally were joined in holy marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hopkins.  They made their home in Silver Lake, Minnesota.  God blessed their marriage with two children Scott and Sandy.

Daniel was the Athletic Director at Silver Lake High School, Assistant Football Coach with his long-time Friend, Head Coach Buz Rumrill; he coached Boys and Girls Basketball, taught drivers education, Social Studies and Phy Ed at Silver Lake High School for thirty-four years.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, and gardening.

Following his retirement, Dan and Colleen wintered in Weslaco, Texas with friends and together made many fond memories. 

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and belonged to The Silver Lake Lions Club.

Survived by his loving children: Scott Tschimperle of Brownton, Sandy (Roger) Posusta of Silver Lake; his Grand Children, Jayden Tschimperle and special Friend Carly, Madison Tschimperle, Rachael (Posusta) and Husband Charlie Kern and Trevor Posusta; a twin brother: David (JoAnn) Tschimperle of Hopkins; Nieces and Nephews and many wonderful friends.

Preceded in death by his wife Colleen F. Tschimperle on June 23, 2007, his parents, a brother Ronald Tschimperle and by his parents in law Lee & Phoebe McNally.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Tschimperle will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.   Father Tony Stubeda will be the Celebrant.    Inurnment with military rites will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.  

Alice Nowak will be the organist for the Mass.

A time of gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 17th beginning at 9:00 A.M. AT THE CHURCH with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
