Donald A. Lhotka, age 82, of Lester Prairie passed away on Sunday, July 7th, 2019 at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake.
He was born in Silver Lake on July 26, 1936 the son of George & Mary (Wosmek) Lhotka.
Donald owned and operated Lhotka Construction for many years. He built The Maresh Funeral Home, forty homes, installed ninety barn cleaners and had many home additions.
He also farmed in Rich Valley Township, McLeod County and worked for Rich Valley Township.
Donald enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, playing solitaire and visiting with people.
He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council #1841 and belonged to the Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club.
Survived by his children: Lisa (Brian) Lhotka-Fiedler of Rice, Lynn (Kevin) Peterson of St. Joseph and Daniel (Katie) Lhotka of St. Michael; seven grandchildren: Matthew & Mariah; Caitlin, Maya and Jenna; Connor and Grady; brothers: Ray (Joyce) Lhotka of Silver Lake, Francis (Pokhui) Lhotka of Washington, Roger (Genny) Lhotka of Hutchinson and Larry (Janice) Lhotka of Silver Lake; a sister-in-law: Helen Lhotka of Silver Lake; many other relatives including Marion Lhotka.
Preceded in death by his parents, a brother George and by a sister Beatrice Kulinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Lhotka will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Father Michael Doyle will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Alice Nowak will be the organist and Genny Lhotka will be the reader.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. A K.C. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. followed by Parish prayers.
Further visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning, July 12th one hour prior to Mass.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Phil Nowak, John and Tom Vacek.
Casket Bearers will be Aaron, Tim, Jeff, Tony, Ryan and Scott Lhotka.
