Esther Forsland

Esther Forsland, 92, of West Des Moines, died at Manor Care. Visitation will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home, Des Moines, Iowa, from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Born in Stevens County, Minnesota, on May 23, 1924, to Albert and Mabel (Bowers) Anderson.  Esther passed from this life early on February 27, 2017.
Family members that preceded Esther in death are her parents, little brother Donald, brothers Floyd and Earl, and sister Hazel. Also going before her were husbands Glen Henderson and Al Forsland.

Esther learned early the importance of God in her life; she committed her life at the age of eleven and remained true to that promise.

Esther married Glen Wesley Henderson of Bird Island, Minnesota, in 1947.

To this union were granted two children, five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren:

Sara Henderson: Simon and Maxwell (Cedar Park, TX)
Laura (Anthony) Lewis: Chaz, Callaway, and Mav (Albuquerque, NM)

Esther married A.C. “Al” Forsland of Virginia, Minnesota, in 1978.
