Lorin Cacka

Lorin Cacka, age 68 of Silver Lake, passed away on February 18th surrounded by his family.  Lorin was born on April 18th, 1950 to Frank and Praxess (Pokornowski) Cacka.  He was raised in Silver Lake, baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Church and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1968.  On August 9th, 1969 he married LaVonne Tupa at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  They lived at the Cacka family farm where they raised their four children, Mark, Ann, Carol and Paul.

Lorin started working at Pure Milk in Winsted after high school.   He worked there for 38 years holding various positions until the company, then called Dairy Concepts, closed the doors and he turned off the lights for one last time.  Once retired, he continued his love for farming.  In his spare time, he was busy cheering on the grandkids at their various events, playing cards with friends, splitting endless amounts of wood, or taking road trips with LaVonne to visit friends, families and casinos.  He was always on the go until the end. 

Lorin is lovingly missed by his wife of 49 years LaVonne, children Mark (Lori), Ann (Brad), Carol (Al), Paul (Jamie), grandchildren Molli, Kasidy, Jordan, Noah, Payton and Avery, sister Elaine Otten and brother-in-law Ernie Bayerl.  Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Praxess Cacka, his in-laws George A. and Eleanor Tupa, an infant brother, his sister Janet Bayerl and brother-in-law Francis Otten.

Mass of Christian Burial for Lorin Cacka will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.  Father Tony Stubeda will be the Celebrant.  Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Silver Lake.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019  from 4-8 PM at Maresh Funeral  Home in Silver Lake.  Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 PM.  Further visitation on Friday beginning at 9 AM at Maresh Funeral  Home.

Casket bearers will be Bruce Otten, Chuck Otten, Mike Otten, Steve Bayerl, Marvin Kuras and Roy Miska.
