Adam George Kasprzyk, age 91, of Silver Lake passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at The J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park.
He was born on February 22, 1922 in St. Paul the son of Joseph & Barbara Romanski Kasprzyk.
Adam honorably served his Country in The United States Navy during World War II.
On June 23, 1947, Adam G. Kasprzyk and Caroline T. Kroll were joined in holy marriage in Royalton. God blessed their marriage with four children.
He engaged in farming for eighteen years and was a former custodian at St. Adalbert Catholic Church and school.
Adam was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and belonged to The Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council # 1841. He also was a member of The Silver Lake American Legion Post # 141, a Charter member of The Silver Lake Ambulance and was a former officer of The Silver Lake Senior Citizens. Adam also served many years as the Cemetery Sexton for St. Adalbert Cemetery.
Survived by his children: Louise (Ronald) Schrupp of Trinity, Florida, Donald (Dianne) Kasprzyk of Maple Grove, Marlene (Leigh) Anglin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Rose Kasprzyk of
La Crosse, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife: Caroline in 1984, his parents and by three sisters: Clara Vorlicek, Nancy Yechout and Helen Kuras.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Adam Kasprzyk will be held on Monday, September 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Father Tony Stubeda and Father Patrick Okonkwo will be the Celebrants.
Interment with military rites will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22nd from 3-7 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.
A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. and Parish Prayers will be held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Monday morning, September 23rd beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jennifer Anglin, Kayla Anglin, Christy Ayers, Caroline Evans, Sarah Grubnich, Sandy Jenssen, Cindy Stearns, Catherine Wereda and Kim Whitehouse.
Casket Bearers will be Jason Anglin, Tom Ayers, Dennis Evans, John Grubnich, Jake Jenssen, Mike Stearns, Bartek Wereda and Chris Whitehouse.
The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake is serving the family.
