Alice Emma Paul, age 89, of Silver Lake passed away on Wednesday, October
19, 2016 at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake. She was born on April 17, 1927 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the daughter of Arthur & Lena (Oelke) Litschke.
On May 5, 1948 Alice E. Litschke and Eugene J. Paul were joined in holy marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for various companies including Hutchinson Industrial Corporation (now HTI),3M, Mickelson Media and several other local businesses.
Alice was a faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. She also belonged to The Silver Lake Legion Post #141 Auxiliary, Music Worship Committee, Woman's Association, Degree of Honor, Silver Lake Senior Citizen's Club and Card Clubs.
Alice enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed attending activities that her grandchildren were involved in.
Survived by a son: DuWayne & Jackie Paul; a daughter: Shirley & Kurt Luhmann; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband Eugene Paul, parents Arthur & Lena Litschke, a sister Vernetta Bahr and by a brother Orville Litschke.
A special thank you to the staff at Cedar Crest Estates and Allina Hospice for all their help and care for Alice.
Funeral services for Alice Paul will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. Pastor Carol Chmielewski will officiate.
Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 28th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. A Legion Auxiliary Service will be held at 6:30 P.M., a Degree of Honor Service will be held at 6:45 P.M. and a Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29th one hour prior to services at the church.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Allina Hospice, Cedar Crest Estates or Faith Presbyterian Church in Alice’s name.
