Alton “Al” Branden, age 86 of Silver Lake, MN passed away on May 6, 2016 at Glencoe Regional health Service Long Term Care, Glencoe, MN. Memorial service on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11 AM at Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake, MN. Visitation from 9-11 AM on Saturday also at the church. Interment Faith Presbyterian Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Alton “Al” Branden was born on December 14, 1929 to Otto and Christine (Melby) Branden in Emerald, Wisconsin. Al was 7 years old when they moved to New Brighton. He worked at fruit farms in his teens. He drove truck for Mengelkoch Co. for 41 years. He married Pearl Jerabek on February 14, 1981. Al and Pearl built Lake Side Manor Apts in 1984. He enjoyed deer hunting with his friend DuWayne at Richmond and fishing and camping at the cabin by Pillager. He was a faithful member of the Faith Presbyterian Church. He sang in the church choir, served on the session and was a deacon when he retired from Mengelkoch Co. He was a member of the Mariner’s Club.
Preceded in death by his parents, son, Micheal, sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanore (Fred), Virginia (Joe) and Wilma (Ray).
Survived by his wife, Pearl of 35 years; daughter, Gerriane (Paul); son, Joe (Deborah); step-son, Dale (Doris), step-daughter, Sandy (Rich); 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Wangensteen.
