Anthony John “Tony” Sporlein, age 62, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his home.
Tony was born on October 21, 1960 in North East Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Walt and Dorothy (Myers) Sporlein.
He was baptized at St. Clements Catholic Church.
At the age of 13, the family moved to Howard Lake, Minnesota. He attended school at Howard Lake-Waverly High School and graduated in 1978.
Tony went to Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis after graduation.
At the age of 20 he joined the Air Guard for four years.
Tony received his BA Degree at The U of M Twin Cities.
In 1992, Tony moved to Arvada, Colorado. He started working at K and T Square in a printing job. He worked there for twenty years.
In 2012, he started working for Indox Services. He worked there for eleven years until his death.
In February of 2023, Tony learned he had Esophageal cancer.
Tony loved his motorcycle, taking rides and visiting historical places with his friends. He loved coming home for the State Fair. He always tried to come back home for all sorts of family occasions.
Tony is survived by his mother: Dorothy "Duff" Novak of Waverly, Minnesota; a sister: Gail (Rick) Weispfenning of North Branch, Minnesota; a brother: Tom (Lisa) Novak of Thornton, Colorado; a sister: Noel (Shane) Painschab of Howard Lake, Minnesota; Godson: Jared Painschab of Grove City, Minnesota; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his father’s Walt Sporlein and Dennis Novak and by a brother Rian Sporlein.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony John “Tony” Sporlein will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the Celebrant.
Lunch will follow the Mass and Inurnment with military rites provided by Silver Lake Legion Post # 141 will take place at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Silver Lake.
A visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass.
