Antoinette "Nettie" LaMott Obituary

Antoinette (Annette) (Nettie) M. LaMott, age 88 of Silver Lake, passed away peacefully in her in sleep Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at Cedar Crest in Silver Lake.

Funeral services will take place Saturday Oct. 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Matthew Wiering as the celebrant.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service 9:30 – 10:30 a.m at Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. 

Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren:  Aaron Schultz, Cullen Schultz, Dawn LaMott, Dusty LaMott, Dan LaMott, Chris Hoel, Alyson Thalhimer.

Nettie was born July 28, 1932 the daughter of John and Clara Lewandowski. 

Nettie Lewandowski and Marceal LaMott were united in holy marriage on April 17, 1951 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children- David, Diane, and Doris.

Nettie was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.  She also belonged to the C.C.W., Rosary Society and the Auxiliary.  Nettie was a very strong catholic. 

She loved to cook and bake, and a couple of her favorite dishes were Kolaches and Duck Soup.  Nettie also loved canning, and enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, going to casinos, flea markets, and polka fests.  She won one of the first Minnesota Lotteries…..

Some of her favorite sayings were while playing Phase 10 cards “when you’re blue you’re blue, and yellow yellow kiss your fellow”. 

She was a farmer’s wife for many years until they bought the Corner Bar in Winsted.  After they sold the bar, she cooked at various restaurants, and worked as a cashier in the cafeteria at Starkey Labs.

Cedar Crest became her new home after she suffered a stroke 11 years ago.  She loved all the staff there, and thought of them as her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marceal (Marsh); son, David; parents; parents-in-law; brothers, Leonard Lewandowski/wife Delores, Phil Lewandowski/wife Mildred; Sister, Delphine Kaczmarek/husband Ed; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lewandowski; and other relatives and friends.

Survived by brother, Jack Lewandowski; Children, Diane Schultz (Chuck), Doris Hoel (David); Daughter-in-law, Linda LaMott; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
