Betty J. (Pofahl) Pulkrabek

Betty J. Pulkrabek, age 89, of Hutchinson and formerly of Silver Lake passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Harmony River in Hutchinson.

She was born in Hutchinson on July 30, 1925 the daughter of William C. & Victoria P. Byczynski Pofahl.

On May 6, 1947, Betty J. Pofahl & George J. Pulkrabek were joined in holy marriage in Silver Lake.  God blessed their marriage with two sons.

She formerly belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.  She was a member of its C.C.W. and Rosary Society.  Betty also belonged to The American Legion Auxiliary Post #141, a lifetime member of the McLeod County Historical Society and a charter member of 3M Century.

She loved cooking, canning, being a homemaker and animals.

Survived by her loving son: Steven (Jeanne) Pulkrabek of Roscoe, Illinois; grandchildren: Bill, Kathryn, Adam, Brigitte and Benjamin; great grandchildren: Joseph, Zachary and one due in June; a brother: Robert Pofahl of Hutchinson; sisters: Helen Piehl of Silver Lake, Alma Johnson of Hutchinson and Sandra (David) Frauenshuh of Edina; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Lorin Pulkrabek, her parents, a brother William Pofahl, half- sisters Eleanore Hagen & Irene Painschab.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty J. Pulkrabek will be held on Thursday, April 9^th, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.  Father Tony Stubeda will be the Celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8^th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.  A Prayer service will be held at 6:30 P.M.  Further visitation will be held on Thursday morning, April 9^th from 9-10 A.M. at the funeral home.

Casket Bearers will be Matthew Frauenshuh, Ron Johnson, Gary Piehl, David Pulkrabek, Tim Pulkrabek and Dale Syversen.
