Prayer service 7:30 P.M. Friday evening, July 11th at the funeral home. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.

David “Bear” Knoll, age 70, of rural Silver Lake passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on July 29, 1954 in Glencoe, Minnesota the son of Damis & Della (Loebertmann) Knoll.
David graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1972.
On May 7, 1977, David Knoll and Suzanne Lawrence were joined in holy marriage at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.
David had a wonderful sense of humor and was very hard working. Through the years, he was employed at Schwartz Manufacturing, Stearnswood Inc., and at Millerbernd Manufacturing.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, cutting wood and was very mechanical. He enjoyed playing 500 and cribbage. He always enjoyed visits from friends and family. Spoiling and teasing his grandkids always brought him joy. He cooked many hogs over the years with his homemade hog roaster.
David was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and also belonged to The Mother Cabrini Knights of Columbus #1841.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susie Knoll; children: Shaun Knoll, Kim Knoll (Jason Paulson) and Jesse Knoll (Brittney Fairlamb); two grandchildren: Dylan Knoll and Allison Knoll, two honorary grandchildren: Justin and Xander Field; siblings: John (Celia) Knoll, Helen (Bruce) Lorentz, Mike Knoll and Ella (Scott) Schmidt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sharon Booth, Gordie (Patty) Lawrence, Joannie Lawrence, Kathy (Harvey) Dvorak and Tom Lawrence; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Damis and Della Knoll, father-in-law and mother-in-law Gilbert and Evelyn Lawrence, brothers-in-law Jim Lawrence and Ron Booth, and a daughter-in-law Dr. Meganne Stifter-Knoll.
A Mass of Christian Burial for David “Bear” Knoll will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Father Matthew Wiering will be the Celebrant.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. A Prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
Further visitation will be held on Saturday morning, July 12th at the funeral home from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M.
