David Fred Micka, age 86, of Silver Lake and formerly of Plymouth passed away on Thursday, December 24th, 2015 at Glencoe Long Term Care Center.
He was born on March 9, 1929 in Silver Lake the son of Fred & Rose (Jerabek) Micka.
He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1946.
On November 22nd, 1952, David Fred Micka and Dorothy M. Paul were joined in holy marriage at Czech Brethren Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.
He engaged in farming near Sherman Station for more than twenty years. He later was employed as a senior set up person for CTS.
David enjoyed The Minnesota Twins.
He was a faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. He formerly served his Church as a Deacon, in the Mariners and as an usher.
Survived by his wife of sixty three years: Dorothy M. Micka; children: Randy Micka of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Nancy (Robert) Rantanen of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Joan Micka of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren: David, Andy, Elisabeth, Andrea and Isaiah; sisters-in-law: Irene Micka of Hopkins, Joan Paul of Lester Prairie, Alice Paul of Silver Lake and Lillian Paul of Fridley; a nephew: Curt Micka; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Fred & Rose Micka, a brother Richard Micka and by a niece Carol Micka.
A Memorial service for David Micka will be held on Tuesday, December 29th at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. Pastor Carol Chmielewski will officiate. Inurnment will follow at The Presbyterian Cemetery in Silver Lake.
A visitation will be held at The Maresh Funeral Home on Monday, December 28th from 4-7:30 P.M.
Urn Bearer will be his nephew Curt Micka.
