Dennis "Toody" Frank Witucki March 2, 1947 – June 15, 2026 Dennis Frank Witucki, affectionately known as “Toody”, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 79. A lifelong resident of Silver Lake, Dennis lived a life defined by service, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. Dennis graduated high school in 1965 and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. On November 8, 1969, he married the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a life that spanned 56 wonderful years. Known as the backbone of shipping and receiving wherever he worked - from Sterner Industries and Niro to Gauge Lettershop and lastly Art's Welding (known now as AWI), Dennis was equally gifted as a welder and metal fabricator. He retired in 2014 after a career defined by hard work and quiet pride. In his free time, Dennis had a passion for classic cars — especially his beloved 1968 Oldsmobile 442 — as well as tinkering and metal fabricating. In his younger years, he spent time with friends playing broomball, hunting, and smelting. He was a man who loved working with his hands and could always be found on some project or another - a quality that he passed on to his sons. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his sons, Darrin (Jacqueline) and Eric (Kathy); grandchildren Carly, Cole, Brandon (Jade), and Jase (Marit); great-grandchildren Alvilda and Thorin; and his sister, Diane Chesshir. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses: Tom (Lois) Steichen, Judy Fuller, Ruth (Roy) Johnson, Berna (Tom) Gormley, Frank (Debra) Steichen, Neal Steichen, and Mike (Lisa) Steichen, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, August and Marion; in-laws Bernard and Clara Steichen, sister-in-law Jane Steichen; and brother-in-law Bob Fuller. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
