Doris Louise Kosek, age 84 of Glencoe, formerly of Silver Lake, passed away on July 24, 2025, at Grand Meadows Assisted Living in Glencoe.
Doris was born on March 1, 1941, in Lester Prairie, MN; the daughter of Edwin and Marie (Fries) Oelke. Doris Oelke was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Kosek on June 1,1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with nine children. They lived south of Silver Lake for many years where they raised their nine children, and Doris continued to do day care for the grandchildren and many others. In 2018 Doris and Clarence moved into assisted living in Glencoe.
She enjoyed canning, gardening, cross stitching, sewing, reading, playing and baking with the grandchildren. Doris also enjoyed fishing, especially family vacations to Jail Lake. Doris and Clarence spent time on many bus tours. including Arizona, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, the Dakotas and a park and canyon tour to the west coast. A major trip was to Hawaii. Doris was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; two sisters, Arlys Krueger, Mavis Heimkes; her parents; great grandson, Peyton Rademacher; and son-in-law, Mark Blazinski.
Survived by children: Dale (Jolene) Kosek, Linda (Dale) Kovar, Deb Blazinski, JoAnn (Larry) Van DeSteeg, Jim (Shelly) Kosek, Sue (Steve) Yurek, Betty (Dale) Wraspir, Margie (Chad)
Fronk and Gary (Larisa) Kosek. Further survived by brother, Larry Oelke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerome and Marlyce Kosek; 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one soon to- be great granddaughter.
