Galen Lloyd Krienke, age 59, of Silver Lake passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his residence.
He was born at The Renville County Hospital in Olivia the son of Lloyd & Gladys (Nicolai) Krienke.
He was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector. Galen was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.
Galen attended school in Hector and Cosmos and graduated from Cosmos High School in 1974.
Over the years, he worked at 3M in Hutchinson and was a welder at Hutchinson Manufacturing.
He enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, gardening and loved his dogs.
Survived by two sons: Nick (Angie) Krienke and Jake Krienke both of Hutchinson; Step-daughter Jill Benson of Buffalo; three grand-daughters; brothers: Bill Krienke, Loren Krienke and Ken Blake; sisters: Susan DeRocher, Joan Kirgiss and Marlys Hagstrom; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
A Memorial Service for Galen Krienke will be held on Friday, December 18th, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. Reverend Dr. Tom Rakow will officiate.
Interment will follow at Hector City Cemetery.
A time of gathering will be held on Friday, December 18th one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
