Geraldine “Geri” Marie Wraspir, age 70 of Ottertail, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015.

Memorial service planned for Friday, June 3, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Visitation will be held on Thursday,

Geraldine “Geri” Marie Wraspir

Age 70 of Ottertail, Minnesota passed away on November 26, 2015. She was born on February 27, 1945 in Glencoe, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond Anton and Eunice Mary (Vacek) Wosmek.

Geri is a 1963 high school graduate of Silver Lake, Minnesota.

Geri worked hard on her parents farm and later her own farm with her husband, LuWayne. Besides farming, Geri also worked for 3M for 32 years.

On October 29, 1963, Geraldine Wosmek and LuWayne Wraspir were united in holy marriage.

She loved fishing (out-fishing LuWayne), hunting, dancing, bowling, traveling, gardening, canning, embroidering, making quilts and potholders, playing bingo, garage sales, babysitting, being a grandma, entertaining, helping others, taking care of others, playing cards, and enjoying cocktails with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Wosmek; an infant brother Wayne Wosmek and by an infant sister Kathleen Wosmek, parents-in-law, Orrin Sr. and Delphine Wraspir; sister-in-law, Lorraine Pokornowski; and brothers-in-law, Orrin Wraspir Jr. and Gordon Hemerick.

She will be missed by her husband of 52 years, LuWayne Wraspir; mother, Eunice Wosmek; children, Janet Wraspir, Nancy Trebbensee, Maggie Wraspir (Frank Sluka), Ken Wraspir, Judy (David) Wiehr, Bob (Brenda Chmielewski) Wraspir; grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Dahlseid, Jessica (Greg) Brown, Kirsten (Nate) Douvier, Brandon (fiancée Linnette Manuel) Wiehr, Nick Voss, Miranda Voss, Tyler Voss, Joey Wraspir, Katie Wraspir, Mitch Wraspir, Sheryl Wraspir; great-grandson, Troy Wiehr; siblings, Sharon (Gary) Cuhel, Dave (Lynda) Wosmek, Mike (Sandy) Wosmek, Jerome (Karla) Wosmek, Cindy (Gregg) Smith, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM with a CCW rosary recited at 5:00 PM and parish prayers at 7:30 PM at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. Further visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 9 to 10 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Silver Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Red Cross or charity of donor’s choice.
