James “Jim” Gilbert Lawrence, age 73 of Hutchinson, MN passed away at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN on September 28, 2015.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Silver Lake, MN with visitation two hours prior to Mass at the church on Monday.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Silver Lake, MN.

Jim was born on October 30, 1941 to Gilbert & Evelyn (Swendra) Lawrence in South St. Paul, MN.  He moved with his family to Silver Lake, MN.  He married Joan Urban on May 21, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake, MN.  He was a semi truck driver for Littfin Truss for 25 years.  After his retirement, he continued to drive for his son-in-law, David.  Jim & Joan enjoyed camping with their family, especially with their four granddaughters.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus & loved to work on classic cars, most recently his ’66 Chevy.

Preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert & Evelyn Lawrence; father & mother-in-law, Charles & Ruby Urban; niece, Gwen Campbell; nephew, Rich Mallak; brothers-in-law, Robert Urban, Ron Booth & Roger Mallak.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan Lawrence; children, Robert (Jeanne) Lawrence, Tammy (David) Pokornowski; granddaughters, Ashley, Allison, Emily & Katlyn; brothers, Gordon (Patty) Lawrence, Tom Lawrence; sisters, Sharon Booth, Kathy (Harvey) Dvorak & Susie (Dave) Knoll.
