Janet M. Plihal, age 74 of Hutchinson, MN passed away on Jan. 21, 2016 at Glencoe Long Term Care, Glencoe, MN.
Memorial service on Tuesday, Jan 26 at 11 AM at Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake, MN. With visitation from 9:30 until time of service at the church. Interment Presbyterian Cemetery, Silver Lake, MN.
Janet was born on July 4, 1941 to Alfred and Helen (Buckho) Talberg in Deer River, MN. She grew up in Princeton, MN where she was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Princeton. She attended and graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1959. She married Kenneth Plihal on May 5, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Princeton. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Connie, Cheryl and Brad. They shared 50 years of marriage. They made their home in Hutchinson except for 17 years in Glencoe.
Janet worked in various occupations at Woolworth, daycare, Green Giant, 3M, Nature Fresh and retired in 2005 from HTI. Janet enjoyed reading, baking, cooking and bird watching. She was very proud of her flower garden. She enjoyed her grandchildren and going to their activities and she truly adored her great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Talberg, husband, Kenneth, infant daughter, JulieAnn Plihal, infant sister, brother-in-law, Richard Malcolm, brother and sister-in-law, David “Butch” and Karen Susdorf, nephew Mike Susdorf.
Janet is survived by her children, Connie Plihal of Glencoe, MN, Cheryl (Chad) Moore of Conifer, CO and Brad (friend Sue) Plihal of Glencoe, MN; grandchildren, Nicholas (friend, Domonque Hengel) Plihal, Tyler (friend, Emily Hansen) Plihal, Travis Plihal; great-grandchildren, William Plihal, Brianna Plihal and Maisie Hansen; sisters, Carol (David) Travis of Renville, MN, Pat Malcolm of Princeton and Phyllis Hilgart of Rogers, MN and nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.
