Jerome Joseph Kaminsky

Jerome J. Kaminsky, age 86, of Hutchinson passed away on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019.  He was born on August 8, 1932.  His parents were Joseph & Sophie (Kelash) Kaminsky.   Jerome attended St. Adalbert’s Grade School 1st through 8th.  He graduated from Silver Lake High High School in 1949.  On November 15, 1955 he was united in marriage to Annette Marie Navratil.  They shared 63 years of marriage.  This marriage was blessed with 3 children.  Lawrence Jerome Kaminsky of Dassel MN, Gary Jerome Kaminsky of New Prague, and Gail Annette Jensen of Arizona.  He was a life time member of St. Adalbert’s and then Holy Family.  He enjoyed reading, puzzles and visits from family and friends.  In his younger years he was quite a hunter of ducks and pheasants.  He also really enjoyed fox hunting.  Jerome was co-owner of Kaminsky Inc. feed mill in Silver Lake and later worked at Glencoe Feeds until his retirement in 1997. In Silver Lake he was an active member of the Commercial Club, the Fire Department and the Silver Lake Ambulance crew.  He was very active in church as a reader, communion distributor in church and to the home bound.   In retirement Jerome enjoyed making rosaries and stocking caps for missions.  He also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune.   He is survived by his loving wife Annette; son: Larry and wife Patti, son: Gary and wife Marita, daughter: Gail and husband Mike; One sister - Margaret Wozniak of St. Louis Park.  His legacy includes 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Carol Navratil, Deannie Navratil and LaRue Suihel..  He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Sophie Kaminsky, brothers Leonard and Francis.  A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome Kaminsky will be held on Monday, May 20th, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.  Father Tim Wozniak and Father Tony Stubeda will concelebrate.   Alice Nowak will be the organist for the Mass.  Private interment Holy Family Cemetery.
