Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Holy Family Cemetery in Silver Lake at 1:00 PM with the Legion Auxiliary Unit 141 in attendance & with the Auxiliary & American flag present.

Kathleen Neubarth was born at home in Silver Lake where she lived above Jack's White Owl Inn. She passed away at Grand Meadows on June 8, 2026. She was born on April 26, 1938, to John C & Cecelia (Zeik) Horejsi in Silver Lake MN. She was married to Roger G. Neubarth & later divorced.

Kathleen was a 3rd generation professional musician. She played 6 instruments (accordion, piano, organ, clarinet, marimba & guitar). She composed music & taught organ, piano & guitar. Even though she was too little to reach the pedals, she played the huge pipe organ at St. Joseph Church in Silver Lake when she was 9 years old. She was an organist entertainer in supper clubs and many other places. She continued to play the organ for the church services at Grand Meadows in Glencoe, MN.

Kathleen worked at 3M for 28 1/2 years (1969-1997) until she retired. When Glencoe had live theater under Millie Beneke in 1989, Kathleen was the assistant director, costume designer & actress. She also did the lights & sound for the children’s theater.

Kathleen led the Silver Lake St Patrick's Day parade for 25 years along with the Irish after glow party. She also designed & gave out collector buttons to each parade participant.

She designed & built floats for the Silver Lake Pola Czesky Days parade for many years. Kathleen also designed many of the Pola Czesky buttons including the Centennial logo in 1989.

She was past President of the Silver Lake American Legion Auxiliary Unit 141 and a lifetime member.

Kathleen was the first woman to give the Memorial Day speech in Silver Lake in 1995. She continued to lead the Memorial Day Program and the Veterans’ Day program at Grand Meadows where she was currently residing.

She was preceded in death by her parents John & Cecelia Horejsi; sisters, Marguerite Horejsi, Therese Ollig & Mary Horejsi; brothers, John Jr (Jackie) Horejsi & David Horejsi. She is survived by nephews, nieces, and several friends.

The Maresh funeral home of Silver Lake handled the funeral arrangements.
