Linda Sue Klima, age 60 of Silver Lake, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. She was born June 18, 1956 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the daughter of Milan and Joanne (Johnson) Klima.
Linda was baptized in Oklahoma and confirmed at Congregational Church in Silver Lake. She was a 1974 graduate of Silver Lake High School. Linda attended Hutch VoTech and received her Secretary Associates Degree. Linda joined the United States Army on January 4, 1977 and was honorably discharged on June 26, 1992 obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Throughout her military career, she has received numerous awards and was stationed throughout the United States, as well as Korea and Germany.
Linda was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake, Silver Lake Lions and Silver Lake American Legion Post 141 where she was past Commander. She enjoyed her bowling league, shaking dice during her morning coffee, cleaning every Sunday, volunteering with Blizzard Blast, and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda also enjoyed always being the cake cutter at her nieces and nephews weddings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Milan and Joanne Klima; son, Sherron Klima; niece, Jennifer Plamann; and nephew, Jeremy Plamann.
Linda is survived by her children, Sherrard (Lori) Klima of Hutchinson, Sherronda (Ken) Moore of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Daunte and Kimberly Klima, Kyla, Jasmyn and Jayden Moore; siblings, Debbie (Steve) Plamann of Hutchinson, Gary (Nita) Klima of Silver Lake, Jim (Kari) Klima of Silver Lake, Mike (Julie) Klima of New Germany, Pam (Tony) Hand of Silver Lake; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A special thank you to the Minneapolis and St. Cloud VA, Harmony River Living Center, and Connect Care Allina Hospice for all their help and care for Linda.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church on Saturday. Funeral services for Linda Klima will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake with Pastor Dr. Tom C. Rakow officiating. Interment with Military Rites will be at Grace Bible Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Honorary casket bearers are Linda’s nieces: Kimberly Rasmussen, Bethany Loncorich, Becca Jopp, Molly Klima, Libby Klima, Amber Klima, Carly Hand and Kacie Hand.
Casket bearers are Linda’s nephews: Mitchell Klima, Jacob Klima, Eric Klima, Lucas Plamann, Matt Klima, Chris Plamann and Mike Plamann.
Serving the family is the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.
