Marvin Joseph Neumann Jr.

Marvin Joseph Neumann Jr. was born July 1, 1960 in Glencoe, MN to Marvin and Marietta (Sherman) Neumann.

He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1979.

On May 29, 1982, Marvin and Sherrie Wanous were united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Silver Lake, MN. They were blessed with 2 daughters: Sara Helget (Nick) of Hutchinson and Laura Ulrich (Thomas) of Silver Lake and 2 granddaughters: Kirsten and Madison Ulrich. They shared almost 42 years of marriage together.

Marvin served in the Army from 1982-1985 at Fort Riley in Kansas, after which he and his family moved back to Minnesota.

He was employed at Novus in Bloomington before starting his career building trusses at Littfin Truss Manufacturing in Howard Lake, MN in 1994, where he stayed for 28 ½ years. He retired on December 7, 2023. While working full time, he also helped his father-in-law and brother-in-law on the farm.

Marvin enjoyed spending time in his shop where he spent many hours drinking coffee, watching westerns, working on tractors, cars (his '49 Ford being his pride and joy), and any other project that was brought to his attention. When he wasn't in the shop or at the farm, he was mowing yards, at an auction, or spending time with family and friends.

Marvin was diagnosed with cancer in January 2024 and passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the age of 63.

Marvin is preceded in death by his father Marvin Neumann, his sister Vicki Marketon, his mother-in-law Marvel Wanous and brother-in-law Craig Wanous.

He is survived by: wife Sherrie Neumann, children Sara (Nick) Helget & Laura (Thomas) Ulrich, grandchildren Kirsten & Madison Ulrich, his mother Marietta Neumann, his siblings James (Jackie) Neumann, Linda Dwarshak, Carol (Rick) Dangers, JoAnn (John) Klein, Jerome Neumann, Joseph (Layla) Neumann, Philip (Stacey) Neumann, Donna Morang, his in-laws: Philip Marketon, David Wanous, Janet Wanous, Debbie (Corey) Stearns, Angela (Dean) Gores, his dear friends Mike & Carter Kosek, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
