Mary Jane (Greiner) Larson was born April 4, 1933 in Lakefield, MN and was later baptized and confirmed in her faith at St. Phillip’s in Lakefield, MN
Mary Jane and Ivan Larson were married May 2, 1953 and they were blessed with sons, Quentin, Mark, and Jeff.
Mary Jane was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Her family was her biggest enjoyment in life along with flower gardening, birdwatching and going to the casino. She worked as a telephone operator out of high school and after their three sons were grown she worked at the Rexall drug store in Hutchinson. Mary Jane volunteered at her church and as a member of the Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary. Ivan and Mary Jane enjoyed many winters in Alamo, TX, where she also volunteered for mission work.
Mary Jane passed away May 25, 2016 at Hutchinson Health.
Mary Jane is survived by husband Ivan, sons Quentin (wife Pam), Mark of Hutchinson; and Jeff (wife Ivy) of Austin, TX. Brother Richard Greiner Sr. (wife Mary) of New Hope, Sister-in-law Eunice Call & Marge Larson; Grandchildren Lyndsay Howard (husband Jason), Britany Larson, Alisa Schmidt (husband Robert), Jonathon Larson, Joshua Larson, Joel Larson, and Zachary Larson. Step grandchildren Tammy Lindahl, Sean Lindahl, Danielle Horrigan, Dallas Bradberry and Brooke Bradberry. Great grandchildren Cody (wife Katarina) Larson Schmidt, Mason Larson Schmidt, Jacob Larson, Benjamin Larson, Chloe Larson, Mitchell Howard, Greyson Howard; Step great grandson Austin Willett, great-great-grandchildren Kayden Larson Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all her family.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents George D. Sr. and Irena (McMannamon) Greiner; Father and mother-in-law Nels and Emma (Goltz) Larson; Sisters and brothers-in-law Grace (Pete) Fields, Helen (Lenny) Swanson, George D. Jr (Mildred) Greiner, Lawrence Larson, Les Call, Dorothy (Art) Warling. Daughter-in-law LeAnn Larson, Nieces Judy Harr, Jen Christenson and Grandson Mitchell Larson. Blessed be her memory!
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jane Larson was held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Father Jerry Meidl was the Celebrant. Entombment followed at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Hutchinson. Vocalists were Bobbi Ludewig and Patty Cogley.
A visitation was held on Saturday morning, May 28th one hour prior to Mass at the church.
