Ronald Andrew Artmann, age 74, of Winsted passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at The Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
He was born on August 31, 1939 in Winsted Township, McLeod County the son of Andrew C. & Mary Neumann Artmann.
On August 29, 1986, Ronald Artmann and Carol Ann Fiecke were joined in holy marriage in Plato.
Ron engaged in farming in Winsted Township for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories about his younger years, driving horses, playing cards and morning coffee at Molly’s Café. Ron had a tractor collection and each tractor that he collected resembled tractors that he and his dad once owned. He also loved to collect quarters.
He was a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and now belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
Survived by his wife: Carol Ann Artmann; four sons: Bobby Artmann and fiancé Melody, Donny (Kari) Artmann, Kenny Artmann and Jim Fiecke; six grandchildren: Josh Artmann, Jessica Artmann, Tristan Artmann, Tyler, Cody & Jack Fiecke; special people: Sharon Anderson & family, Arrissa Nowak and McKenzie Nowak; sisters: Lucille Hausladen and Evelyn Fenske; sisters-in-law: Millie Artmann and Mary Ann Artmann; brother-in-law: Roger (Carol) Thalman; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Andrew & Mary Artmann, brothers: Jerome, Clarence and Clem, two infant sisters: Dorothy & Mary Ellen, father-in-law & mother-in-law: Edwin & Laverna Thalman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Artmann will be held on Monday, March 17th at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.
A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning, March 17th one hour prior to Mass.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be his six grandchildren.
Gift Bearers will be Sharon Anderson, and Arrissa Nowak and McKenzie Nowak.
