Susan Marie (Wendolek) Monahan

Susan Marie Monahan, age 72, of Silver Lake passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on July 4, 1947 in Hale Township, McLeod County, Minnesota the daughter of Donald & Mary (Goreczny) Wendolek.

Susan graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1965. 

On January 28, 1966, Susan M. Wendolek and Leon W. Monahan were joined in holy marriage in Aberdeen, Maryland.   God blessed their marriage with five children.

Susan was formerly employed at Starkey Labs, Incorporated in Glencoe for over twenty years.

She was the ultimate host and had a great sense of humor.   She loved to be with her family and she loved her grandchildren!  She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino and garage sales.

She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.

Survived by her loving husband: Leon W. Monahan; children: Michele Reno, Shawn (Dave) Rubino, Jeffrey (Kelli) Monahan, Shannon (Todd) Konen and Joshua (Emily) Monahan; grandchildren: Shane Reno; Joey Rubino; Maddie Monahan and fiancé Teddy Petersen, McKenna Monahan, Miah Monahan and Mylea Monahan; Hayley Konen and fiancé Jeremy Solano, Tanner Konen, Cortney Konen and Wyatt Konen; Lucy Monahan and Ruby Monahan; great grandchildren: Natalie Solano and Ethan Solano; a brother: Jim (Martie) Wendolek; other relatives and many friends.  

Preceded in death by a grandson Jacob Reno and by her parents.

A Private Family Memorial Mass for Susan M. Monahan will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.   Father Matt Weiring will be the Celebrant.

Urn Bearer and God Daughter is Jill Lukes.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.   A Rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. and Parish Prayers held at 7:30 P.M.
