Theresa Frances Borka, age 63, of rural Hutchinson surrounded by her loving family passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on May 11, 1952 in Shakopee the daughter of Wilbert & Frances (Schindler) Buesgens.
On May 8, 1971, Theresa Buesgens and Robert J. Borka were joined in holy marriage at St. Joseph’s Church in Waconia. God blessed their marriage with three sons.
Theresa and Bob engaged in dairy farming in Hutchinson Township, McLeod County for many years. She formerly was employed at The Prairie House, Hutchinson Sale Barn, Silver Lake Hatchery, Plato Woodworking and at 3M.
She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and its C.C.W.
Theresa also belonged to The Knitting Club.
She loved her family especially her grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed crafts especially those that used thread.
Survived by her loving husband: Bob Borka; sons: Darrel (Jackie) Borka and Tony (Kim) Borka all of Hutchinson and Jay (Julene) Borka of Winsted; grandchildren: Alyssa, Grace and Addison; Riley & Chloe; sisters and brothers: “Toots” (Guy) Johnson and Chris (Roger) Borka all of Waconia, Ken (Deb) Buesgens of Cologne, Dan Buesgens of Slayton, Jim (Teresa) Buesgens of Cologne, Paul Buesgens and Mark (Michelle) Kopp all of Waconia; further survived by step brothers and step sisters; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa Borka will be held on Monday, February 15th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Father Paul Schumacher will be the celebrant.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14th, 2016 from 3-7 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake. A C.C.W. Rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M., Parish Prayers at 6:30 P.M. Further visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning, February 15th from 9:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M.
