Thomas Victor Friauf, age 74, of Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on December 11, 1939 in Glencoe the son of Art & Grace Friauf.
Thomas honorably served his Country in United States Armed Services.
On April 8, 1967, Thomas Friauf and Alice Baseman were joined in holy marriage in Watertown, South Dakota.
Thomas formerly was employed as a Journeyman for The Milwaukee Rail Road. He also engaged in dairy farming for many years south of Silver Lake.
He enjoyed going to the cabin, deer hunting, playing cards and going to auctions.
Thomas was a life member of The V.F.W. and belonged to The American Legion both in Hutchinson.
Survived by his wife: Alice Friauf; children: Russell (Vicky) Duenow, Jeff Duenow, Pam (David VonBerge) Popelka, Terry (Marilyn) Duenow, Tracy Schmidt (Dale Horton), Wayne (Teri) Friauf, and Holly Setter (Dennis Getz); twenty two grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; a brother: Donald Friauf and by two sisters: Joyce Frey and Arlene Lewin; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Art & Grace Friauf and by a daughter: Theresa.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21st at 3:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Pastor John Pasche will officiate.
Interment with military rites will follow at Bohemian National Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20th from 4-8 P.M. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.
Further visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st one hour prior to services at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Dennis Getz, Dale Horton, Brent Lindemann, Craig Thran, David Popelka, Brad Jackson and Tim Ellis.
