Thomas Stephen Zanoth, age 77, of Silver Lake, MN passed away at his residence on Monday, January 1, 2024.
He was born on September 11, 1946 in Hutchinson, MN the son of Thomas and Gladys (Makovsky) Zanoth.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake, MN. Tom graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1964.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Tom engaged in farming in Hale Township, McLeod County for many years and held several manufacturing jobs.
On December 5, 1981, Thomas Zanoth and Ruth Vanderlinde were joined in holy marriage in St. Bonifacius, MN. God blessed their marriage with three children.
He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Tom belonged to The Mother Cabrini Knights of Columbus Council #1841, The D.A.V and American Legion Post 141.
He loved being a grandpa! Tom enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, magic tricks and watching old westerns on TV.
Survived by his loving wife Ruth; children Mary Jo (Dean) Rein, Stephanie (Worku) Woubie, Sandra (Michael) Olson and Steven Zanoth (fiancé Justyne Hawkinson); grandchildren Mikhael, Desta and Liam; sisters Rita Worshek and Lois (Ron) Miskosky; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael Zanoth; sister Mary Jo Ardolf; and by his grandparents.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Zanoth will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4-7 PM. Further visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 6 PM followed by parish prayers at 6:20 PM on Thursday, January 4th.
Inurnment with military rites will be at Holy Family Cemetery.
