Willard “Willie” Dolezal, age 84 of Glencoe, MN passed away at his home on Monday, June 23, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Silver Lake, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Silver Lake, MN.
Willie was born on August 24, 1929 to John Joseph & Sophie Caroline (Schultz) Dolezal in Hassan Township, McLeod County, MN. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School. He worked on local farms after graduation before he was drafted. Willie proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict fighting with the artillery unit on the front line. Following his service, he purchased a milk truck & route & drove his route for twenty years. He married Gertrude “Gerdi” Radtke on January 21, 1976 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Silver Lake, MN. Willie worked for the Glencoe Creamery in Glencoe, MN; he retired from the creamery. He loved to fish & hunt. He was an avid sports enthusiast. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening. He cared for Gerdi for seven years in their home during her health concerns. Willie was a hard working, generous man. He would do without if he felt someone else needed help.
Preceded in death by his parents, John & Sophie Dolezal, wife, Gerdi, sister & brothers, Lucille Knoll, Donald Dolezal, Edwin Dolezal, John Dolezal Jr., & infant brother, Ernest Dolezal.
Survived by his sister & brothers, Leslie (Marcy) Dolezal, Jane (Jerry) Spechel, Franklin (Marilyn) Dolezal and Richard (Nancy) Dolezal; sisters-in-law Tina Dolezal, Janet Dolezal and Grace Dolezal; many nieces & nephews.
Casket Bearers will be Wade Dolezal, Randy Knoll, Kari Carlson, Lynn Lutz, Bruce Dolezal and Scott Dolezal.
