Edward J. Chmielewski, age 68, of Glencoe passed away Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at The V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born on November 27, 1948 in Silver Lake the son of Francis “Frank” & Elizabeth (Jaskowiak) Chmielewski. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1966. Edward honorably served his Country during Vietnam. He was employed as a foreman in the construction industry. Edward enjoyed working on the farm, playing cards, gardening, telling stories and treasured time with his grandchildren. He belonged to Silver Lake American Legion Post #141. Survived by wife: Betty; five children: Bruce (Abby) Chmielewski of Cologne, John Chmielewski of Glencoe, Patrick Chmielewski of Coon Rapids, Katie Chmielewski of Fargo, North Dakota and Amber Chmielewski of St. Cloud; a step daughter: Wanda (Dave) Venhuizen of Gaylord; four grandchildren: Zac, Wyatt, Zoey and Wil; siblings: Francis Chmielewski of Silver Lake, Sue Chmielewski of Clear Lake and Joe (Carol) Chmielewski of Silver Lake. Preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Chmielewski will be held on Thursday, June 29th at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Father Tony Stubeda will be the Celebrant. Interment with military rites will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28th at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake from 4-7 P.M. Prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be at The Maresh Funeral Home on Thursday morning, June 29th from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Casket Bearers will be Jeff Chmielewski, Cory Chmielewski, Tanner Chmielewski, Zac Hindermann, Josh Coon and Ryan Kottke.
